George’s remarkable creative journey began alongside his lifelong friend David Bowie. After briefly pursuing music together, he established a successful career as an artist and illustrator, creating artwork for several of Bowie’s most celebrated albums, including Hunky Dory and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, as well as designs for T. Rex and other leading musicians.
Today, George is known for meticulously painted figures, enigmatic characters and imagined worlds that blur the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Familiar yet unexpected, each work is filled with symbolism, mystery and possibility, inviting us to look beyond what is immediately seen.
