Raquel Alvarez Sardina MA, SWA

Raquel Alvarez Sardina, originally from Barcelona, is known for her beautifully detailed still life paintings. She began her artistic training at the Academia Leonardo da Vinci before studying Fine Arts and completing courses in Barcelona and Florence. After graduating in 1991, she moved to the UK, where she earned a Master’s degree from Cardiff University.

Raquel works from her garden studio in the Cotswolds, where she uses natural light to achieve the rich contrasts that define her style. Her paintings have been exhibited in Spain, the UK, and the United States. In 2016, Raquel was elected a member of the Society of Women Artists (SWA) and received the President and Vice Presidents' Choice Award, presented by HRH Princess Michael of Kent.
