Harry Brioche, a distinguished landscape artist, was born in the Seychelles in 1965, where he enjoyed an idyllic childhood. However, the Coup d'état of 1977 forced his family to flee, and they eventually settled in the UK.
Although Harry attended Maidstone College of Art, he regards himself as largely self-taught. When his college instructors demanded he adhere to the institution's painting style and techniques, he chose to forge his own path. Harry then built a thriving career as an illustrator and graphic designer with his firm 'Tom Dick and Harry', collaborating with iconic brands such as Dr Martens, Coca-Cola, and BAE Systems.
From a young age, he was enthralled by the dramatic and ever-changing British skies and landscapes, which starkly contrasted with those of the Seychelles. This early inspiration has continually influenced his artwork. Harry explains, "The landscape is almost incidental; my main objectives are to try and capture the atmosphere and 'spirit' of a place. Ultimately it is the mood and light within the painting which becomes the central theme."
For the past two decades, Harry has showcased his art both internationally and extensively across the UK. His pieces are frequently displayed at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London through NEAC, ROI, and RBA annual exhibitions. His works are also featured in numerous esteemed private and public collections worldwide.
