Peter Brown

Peter, widely known as 'Pete the Street,' is an artist who draws inspiration directly from life, whether he's in his hometown of Bath, bustling London, exotic India, picturesque Spain, charming France, or any other destination he explores during his travels. His preferred mediums are oil on canvas board or paper, as well as charcoal. His artwork spans a wide range of sizes, from small 6 x 8-inch pieces to impressive 60 x 80-inch creations.

Pete's artistic process varies; sometimes, he completes a piece in a single session, while other times, he revisits the same location, consistently capturing its essence in various lighting conditions and weather. Regardless of the season or weather conditions, Pete is unyielding in his dedication to his craft, finding inspiration in the beauty of snow and rain, just as much as he does in the vibrant heat of India or the brilliant, crisp light of Spain.

Notably, Pete adamantly refuses to rely on photographic references in his work. His exhibitions are often accompanied by publications that include diary excerpts, chronicling his experiences and dialogues while immersed in the act of painting.
